Thermaltake: Light And A Bit Of Shadow

Thermaltake A1110 "Volcano 5"

Despite it's massive heatsink and high air flow this cooler only delivers absolutely average performance. On the plus is it's good contact area finish.

Note that this Heatsink is weighs more than the maximum of 300g specified by AMD !

Thermaltake A1139 "Volcano 6 Cu"

Thanks to a copper insert the Volcano 6 Cu fares a lot better than the Volcano 5, delivering good performance. There is a variant called Volcano 6 Cu+ with a more powerful fan (7000 rpm), which would be quite interesting to test, too ...

Thermaltake A1135 "Dragon Orb 3"

The word "monster" surely is applicable to this cooler. With it's cool orb design it overshadows most other coolers in appealing the eye. Yet the design is a lot better than your standard orb: It not only has a copper inlay,

but the upper part of this is shaped into pins, offering the passing air a lot more surface area than it is the case with standard orbs.

With these features it delivers good cooling performance, but is very noisy, bulky and extremely heavy. This makes it hard to install despite it's avove-average clip which hooks into all 6 cpu socket noses.

Note that this Heatsink is weighs more than the maximum of 300g specified by AMD ! It's more than double of that ...
